Pygmalion’s Art Supplies and Gamblin Artist Colors joined together again to create a new oil color for Bloomington artists, and to raise money for Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. The new color, Green Bean Green, was created in a collaboration between Gamblin and local artist Ben Pines. Ben Pines, who lives and works in Bloomington, received his MFA in Painting from Indiana University in 2010.  His introspective portrait, figure, and landscape paintings may be viewed at

Green Bean Green is beautiful green in the Pthalo green family of colors. This color is a wonderful addition to any palette and it is also a great mixing color. 100% of each sale went to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard in Bloomington. Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard provides healthful, wholesome food to people in need, as well as education on nutrition and gardening.

In celebration of Green Bean Green Pygmalion’s hosted a one-night show on April 12, 2013 of art created with the new color. Over $800.00 in cash or merchandise prizes was awarded. Everyone from all levels of artistic involvement were encouraged to use Green Bean Green in a work of art and show it at Pygmalion’s on April 12th.
